International Credit Union Week

Did you know October 17 marks the 76th anniversary of International Credit Union Day? International Credit Union Day celebrates the impact credit unions have made and continue to make for their members. Credit unions strive to make the world a better place for their members by offering affordable rates and high-quality services that simplify their lives and empower them to meet their financial goals for a brighter tomorrow.

“One World Through Cooperative Finance” is this year’s International Credit Union Day theme. At a time in our history when we seem increasingly divided, we hope credit unions use the 76th anniversary of ICU Day to show how our movement brings people closer together through democratic, member-owned financial institutions that put people over profit.

We will join over 82,000 credit unions worldwide to celebrate International Credit Union (ICU) Day, and in honor of it, we will be celebrating all week long! Here are the ways AMOCO is celebrating!

October 12
Shred Day

Join us as we kick off our celebration with a focus on the environment. We’ve teamed up with Iron Mountain Secure Shredding to provide free, confidential shredding for members to shred personal identifying documents on Saturday, October 12, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Main Event Webster Parking Lot (1125 Magnolia Ave, Webster, TX 77598).

Along with free shredding, Texas EquuSearch will be in attendance collecting cash donations. Texas EquuSearch provides search and recovery services to families of missing persons and law enforcement.

Financial Webinar – Credit IQ: Access to Your Score with Convenience

AMOCO will be delivering lunches to local credit unions to show our camaraderie.

Member Appreciation Night

We are excited to celebrate International Credit Union Day at Main Event Webster on Thursday, October 17, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. to show our appreciation for YOU – our members! There will be food, caricature artists, bowling, unlimited games, a kids’ zone, and more! 

Please note this is an AMOCO member-only event. RSVP is required. Main Event’s maximum capacity is 1,400 people. If you arrive and the venue is at capacity, there may be a short wait time to enter the event.
